TBF’s Tag & Release Competition Deadline Approaching!

The deadline for The Billfish Foundation’s 2022-2023 Annual Tag & Release Competition is October 31st, 2023. All records must be received by TBF by the end of the day on November 15th, 2023.

There are two ways to submit your cards.

(1)  Online: Go to www.tagbillfish.org, login into your profile, and submit your tags online. Online submission is the quickest and most efficient way to ensure your tag and releases will be received by the deadline. Be sure to keep a hard copy (like a photo) of the record until you can confirm the data is present in the database

(2)  Mail: Drop your completed tag or release cards at your nearest mailbox to be shipped to the address posted on the card. If you are not based in the USA, we encourage you to submit your cards online in addition to mailing them in. Note, with any shipment, there is an inherent risk of delays, etc.

If you have concerns, feel free to reach out via email to [email protected]. Please remember, if you choose to mail your cards in, you may not see them uploaded immediately on www.tagbillfish.org. The TBF team works hard to get the cards submitted into our online database as quickly as possible, however, large influxes of cards can sometimes delay submission, especially near the end of the competition.

Thank you so much to all who have tagged and released billfish this year! Winners of the competition will be announced at the end of December 2023. Good luck!
