Raising Bills with Casa Vieja Lodge!

The 3^rd Raising Bills hosted by Kirsten and David Salazar of Casa Vieja Lodge (CVL), a TBF Tagging & Release Program sponsor, was a huge success in raising bill$ for TBF!  Generous sponsors included Cummins, Contender Boats, Sportsman Adventure, Bob Hewes Boats, Capt. Harry’s, Costa and Yeti.  The party was laid back and a most enjoyable respite for industry leaders and VIP clients from the Miami Boat Show. Raising Billfish is a very popular event with flowing libations, great food, impressive raffle items, phenomenal entertainment by the Jay Valor Band. Guests supported the mutually beneficial cause of conserving billfish, a species very important to the marine industry.

Raising Bills, a party hosted by Casa Vieja Lodge (CVL), a TBF Tagging & Release Program sponsor, to raise funds for TBF was a huge and fun success. David and Kristen Salazar were consummate hostesses as proven time and again at their fantastic sportfishing lodge where anglers from around the world come to fish time and time again. The party, held at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science during the Miami boat Show on Virginia Key in Miami, is one of the most popular events held during the show. Hundreds of show exhibitors flocked to Raising Bills, to have good food, drinks, phenomenal entertainment provided by the Jay Valor Band, and to come together after a few hard days’ work at the boat show and donate to something bigger is what it’s really about! That evening also celebrated milestones with the 25th anniversary of Sportsman Adventures, 100th anniversary of Cummins, and later this year will be the 35th anniversary of Contender Boats. TBF’s raffle was well supported with winners taking home a wide variety of products donated by Costa, Yeti, Xtratuf, Fathom Offshore, Garmin, Roff’s, Trollpro, Sportsman Adventures, and
many others. The event was able to collectively with the raffle and donations raise over $5000. We thank everyone for attending and supporting TBF.
