The Billfish Foundation had an outstanding experience at the annual Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament and MidAtlantic Tournament! These events provided us with a fantastic platform to engage with local billfishing communities andraise awareness about billfish conservation and our mission.
Among our booths at both tournaments, we were thrilled to see so many supporters participating in our raffles and checking out our merchandise. The raffles were a major highlight, offering incredible prizes from our generous sponsors, including YETI, Garmin, Pelagic, and Costa, as well as an exciting safari giveaway with Daggaboys Safari in South Africa. Thanks to everyone who took part, these efforts will significantly contribute to our ongoing conservation initiatives.
The Pirate’s Cove tournament, located in Manteo, North Carolina, was an impressive display of skill and sportsmanship, with 84 boats and 251 anglers registered to fish. Their success and the 100% release ratio of the 148 billfish caught underscores the angling community’s commitment to conservation—a cause at the heart of TBF’s mission.
The MidAtlantic took place with two weigh stations—Canyon Club Marina in Cape May, New Jersey, and Sunset Marina in Ocean City, Maryland—staff members from TBF had the pleasure of attending both locations. We showcased our commitment to conservation and support for sportfishing anglers at both events.
We are grateful to all who visited our booth, entered our raffles, and purchased TBF merchandise. Your support not only helps fund our conservation programs, but also raises awareness about the importance of protecting billfish and associated species worldwide.
We remain dedicated to our mission and are excited to continue this important work with the support of Pirate’s Cove and MidAtlantic billfish tournaments.
