The deadline for The Billfish Foundation’s 2023-2024 Annual Tag & Release Competition is Friday, November 1st, 2024. All records must be received by TBF by the end of day on November 15th, 2024.
As a reminder, there are two ways to submit your records.
(1) Online: By far the most reliable and efficient of the two methods, simply go to www.tagbillfish.org, login to your profile, and submit your tags and releases directly online. Be sure to keep a hard copy of your records until the competition results have been calculated.
UPDATE: You can officially batch submit your records using our excel template. Simply login to your profile, click “Submit a Tag” and select “Upload multiple at once”. From there, you can follow the prompt, download the template, and add all your records into one uploadable excel file. Once uploaded, the system scans the document and determines if any data fields need to be adjusted prior to submission. If needed, you can edit any entry right there within the system, including features that allow you to apply any edits across every entry on the form.
(2) Mail: Drop your completed tag or release cards at the nearest US postal mailbox. For international records, additional shipping procedures are required. Note, with any shipment, there is an inherent risk of delays, etc.

Please remember, if you choose to mail your cards in, you may not see them uploaded immediately on www.tagbillfish.org. The TBF team works hard to get the cards submitted into our online database as quickly as possible, however, large influxes of cards can sometimes delay submission, especially near the end of the competition.
