Despite their ecological, recreational and economic importance, billfish have often been ignored when it comes to fisheries management. This lack of governmental interest is TBF’s biggest challenge in making strides towards improving billfish management. For almost a quarter century, TBF has been the voice for billfish and those who wish to insure continued fishing opportunities for future generations.

TBF fights hard and smart by synthesizing science into effective and responsible management solutions that are good for the fish but not punitive to recreational anglers. Armed with credible science, TBF turns emotional pleas into strong and solid arguments before taking conservation initiatives to its constituents, regulators, legislators and national and international fisheries management organizations. By participating in numerous fisheries management councils around the world and continually backing up its work with sound research, TBF is proud to continue making sure that billfish and those who fish for them get the representation they rightfully deserve.
